Cadillac unveiled the updated 2025 Cadillac CT5 at the Detroit Auto Show, which will go on sale in spring 2024.
The 2025 CT5's new front end features a wider grille and more sophisticated LED headlights, and there are two new paint colors to choose from. A 33-inch screen dominates the cabin, and the CT5 will also offer a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and have Amazon's Alexa voice assistant built-in.
Cadillac's future trend is centered around electric SUVs, with the electric Escalade iQ unveiled last month, which will be available in dealerships next summer alongside the Lyriq EV. But the U.S. luxury automaker is still making further updates to its older gasoline-powered sedan, the CT5, to prevent it from being discontinued. Revealed today at the Detroit Auto Show, the 2025 CT5 features a new exterior and a more modern interior with a large 33-inch screen.
The CT5's new look is consistent with the recently updated XT4, Cadillac's smallest crossover. The squinting horizontal headlights are now combined with vertical LED elements. The main headlight housing is located at the bend of these two LED light strips and connects to the air vents below, creating a triangular cutout in the bodywork. CT5 Sport models have black trim and a grille with black mesh. Two new colors have been added to the 2025 palette: Space Metallic and Typhoon Metallic.
The biggest change is inside the cabin, where a new 33-inch LED screen covers the dashboard. As seen in the XT4, Lyriq and gas-powered Escalade, the screen curves slightly towards the driver and features touch functionality on both sides of the steering wheel. Keeping the 2025 CT5 up to date is an optional 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and a suite of Google apps built into the infotainment system, including Google Maps and Assistant. Amazon's Alexa voice assistant is also integrated into the system.
The CT5 also gets more standard driver-assist features for 2025, adding blind-spot steering assist (designed to prevent collisions when changing lanes) and intersection automatic emergency braking. Traffic sign recognition is now available, and buyers can also purchase Super Cruise, GM's hands-free highway driving system.
The 2025 CT5 will be assembled starting in spring 2024 at the Grand River Plant in Lansing, Michigan. Cadillac says pricing will be announced later, and we expect the new CT5 to start in the $40,000-plus range. Cadillac also hinted that updated versions of the performance-oriented CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing will be released at a later date.
