Many car owners have such a problem. The candle lights in the original car are too dim and they want to change them to LED lights. But I don’t know if there will be any safety risks if I change it directly, and whether it can successfully pass the annual inspection. Today we will talk about the conversion of halogen lamps into LED lamps.
Install a decoder if necessary
Generally speaking, the power of halogen headlights and LED headlights are different, but compared with high-current xenon headlights, the current of LED headlights is close to that of halogen headlights, so general models can directly change to LED headlights, but Many models such as the old Sagitar and JEEP need to install decoders, because these models will detect the power of the lights and report a fault if the power is inconsistent.
Pay attention to the angle of the light
The original halogen headlights have lenses. When changing to LED headlights, you must pay attention to the angle and range of the light to prevent the light from being scattered and dazzling. If the original lens doesn't fit, there are two solutions.
1. When installing LED headlights, directly install a lens suitable for this LED headlight.
2. Choose an LED bulb with "low beam with built-in tangent function", which has a built-in lens effect, which can achieve low light on the left and high on the right, reducing the impact on oncoming cars.
Pay attention to the original interface model
When purchasing LED headlights, you need to pay attention to that the interface models must match, just like the light bulbs at home are also divided into screws and snaps. For example, the bulb models of the old Lavida's high and low beams are all H7, so just buy H7 model LED headlights.
When choosing brand products, pay attention to heat dissipation
The main problem of LED headlights is heat dissipation. The reason why many LED headlights do not have a long service life is because of poor heat dissipation performance. At present, many domestic brands of LED lights have difficulty in passing heat dissipation and have a short lifespan. If you want to choose, it is recommended to buy domestic first-line brands and foreign brands. Such LED lights have a longer lifespan and will reduce a lot of trouble for car owners.
To sum up, it is feasible to replace halogen with LED, but you must choose a regular manufacturer, purchase brand products, pay attention to the car model, illumination angle and interface model, and choose suitable LED products.
