After the last self-purchased Xuelong W16 taillight for evaluation, I received the LOOP-100 magnetic smart brake taillight from the manufacturer before the holiday. It is a new model that was only launched in June. When you open the express delivery, you still see the simple and plain all-paper packaging, which highlights the environmental protection. The front simply and directly shows the characteristics of the car lights. The key technical points are basically the same as the W16 taillights: magnetic installation, IPX6 waterproof, TYPE-C charging and intelligent brake sensing.

The LOOP-100 comes with a lot of accessories, and the small box is packed to the brim. The package provides 2 sets of car light installation solutions, which are used to install on the seat tube and the seat rail.
Since the name is LOOP, it must have a ring. When you turn on the car lights, you can see 20 COB lamp posts arranged in a ring around the car lights. On the inside is a reflective area with complex patterns. Active light emitting and reflective scattering provide uniformity for the car lights. brightness distribution.
There is a switch in the middle of the car light. Long press to turn it on and short press to switch modes. It has 3 brightness levels of low, medium and high and 3 flashing modes. In addition, it will automatically highlight in braking mode, and this brake sensing function can be turned off through settings.
LOOP-100 still adopts a unique magnetic fixing structure. Two strong magnets can provide a very stable connection. Because the light itself is not heavy, this magnetic force is more than enough to fix the light.
But in fact, the LOOP-100 manufacturer still adds a small clip to the connection between the car light and the lamp holder to increase safety redundancy. After the car light is installed, the car light is further fixed by the clip.
The type-c charging port is on the back of the car light, and the external waterproof plug fits very well. After it is actually installed in the car, the charging port and the lamp holder fit very closely, which theoretically further improves the waterproof effect.
The package provides lamp holders that meet two different installation methods. It seems that more car enthusiasts like to install the taillight directly under the seat cushion. The effect of using the original seat cushion bracket to get on the car is as follows.
This is the side angle. You can clearly see the small clip used to further secure the tail light. When disassembling the tail light, you need to pull the small clip toward the seat tube first, and then pull up to remove the tail light.
Changing the angle allows you to see this fixed structure more clearly.
However, there is one thing to note about this cushion bracket. Unlike some cushion brackets that are fixed on the back slope of the cushion bow, it is fixed on the seat bow track, so you need to leave a little space to install this bracket. If your cushion If the setting is very forward, there may not be enough space to install this bracket. The details will depend on the design of different seat cushions.
As for why this bracket is designed like this, I guess it is because after the car lights are installed, they are actually hidden under the seat cushion, and its installation method is similar to plugging and unplugging up and down, so a little space needs to be reserved between the tail lights and the seat cushion. If the bracket is fixed on the inclined surface of the seat cushion bow, there may not be enough space left for the disassembly and assembly of the car light.
The car lights are very beautiful when lit. The outer ring of light surrounds the inner reflective area with complex textures, and the light and dark alternate clearly. The reason why the outer light source is called a halo is because if the brightness is higher, it will appear to the naked eye to be a relatively continuous halo. , it seems to be much more refined than the "science student" design of W16 where you can clearly see how many lamp beads there are, and it is a completely different design style.
There is no need to worry about the recognition of LOOP-100. The 20 COB lamp beads arranged in a ring can give a maximum brightness of 100 lumens, which is eye-catching enough in medium and high brightness modes during the day. Due to their small size, bicycle taillights must be highly visible to ensure recognition.
It can be easily identified at medium and low brightness at night. In the photo, the exposure was deliberately lowered in order to see the lines of the taillights clearly, otherwise it would be a very bright red dot...
The official viewing angle is 220 degrees. In fact, when riding on the road, it is more used to alert the car directly behind or to the side, which is about 45 degrees. This angle range is completely recognizable for LOOP-100. There will be no discounts.
It can still be seen from the front and sides, but it is just seen. The brightness is actually enough, but because the luminous area is too small, the recognition is not high in streets with complex lighting conditions at night, but if the surrounding environment is dark , that can indeed be said to be relatively obvious.
Did you notice that the light body in the above picture has a carbon fiber texture? In fact, LOOP-100 will also release a carbon fiber version at the end of July. The effect on the car is like this... Coincidentally, the texture of the carbon fiber shell is the same as the carbon fiber texture of the seat tube of my car, so it looks very harmonious when installed.
The carbon fiber version sent for testing does not have a LOGO because it is not on sale. The commercial version will have a complete LOGO like the aluminum alloy version, and will still provide two different installation methods of taillight holders.
In terms of weight, the aluminum alloy shell version weighs 20g and the carbon fiber version weighs 18g. The weight difference can be said to be minimal. The more significance may be to give consumers a choice of diverse appearances. Of course, the 2-gram weight "advantage" is real.
LOOP-100 has a 420 mAh battery. The battery status is displayed by lightly pressing the switch in the center of the car light. When it is above 60%, it is blue, when it is 20%-60%, it is yellow, and when it is below 20%, it is red. In terms of actual use, I rode for about 2 hours a day for three days during the Dragon Boat Festival. I used the daytime flashing mode and looked at the flashing yellow light. Three days is enough for daily life. In addition, like the W16, the LOOP-100 also has a sleep function. The vehicle will automatically turn off after being stationary for a minute or two. To wake up, it only requires a slight vibration, such as a gentle tap on the seat cushion.
There are actually many competitors for taillights with a shape like the LOOP-100. The price of 119 yuan is still quite satisfactory (the carbon fiber version is expected to be 139 yuan). The actual advantage of the LOOP-100 is its weight, which is the lightest among similar products on the market. At the same time, the dual fixation mode of magnetic suction and plug-in buckle greatly improves the safety of the tail light. You don't have to worry about the tail light falling during intense riding.
