In 2013, I achieved my small goal in life, buying a car and buying a Sagitar. At that time, I had always been very optimistic about Volkswagen and Toyota, and the Japanese cars were also good. It was just due to personal feelings that I decided not to buy them. After a long time of selection, I finally decided on the Sagitar. By 2022, my Sagitar has been with me for almost 9 years. I have taken good care of it and maintained it regularly in the past few years. There are no major problems and minor problems can be ignored. Although it is a joint venture made in China, the feeling of German craftsmanship is a compliment. I have run more than 83,000 times in the past few years, and I am still high-spirited, I have a lot of face when I go out, and I don’t lose track at critical moments. With the passage of time and my driving experience in various road conditions, especially in the past six months, the frequency of driving at night has increased, and I have become more and more dissatisfied with halogen lights. The field of vision when driving at night is limited, and the visual range on the highway cannot keep up with the driving speed. , so the modification of headlights was put on the agenda.
I changed it as soon as I was told, and immediately bought the light online that day, but the car overturned, could not be installed, and there was a fault code! Later, I complained to my brother. He said that he knew an auto repair shop owner who had changed many lights. While talking, he helped me make an appointment with the boss. Brother speed! I drove to the auto repair shop, parked the car and let the mechanic do the work. Without further ado, I look forward to my Sagitar becoming even more powerful after modification!
Opening the engine compartment cover, the installation master said that the installation space was okay and there was no need to disassemble the assembly.
He also specifically pointed to the installation space and said that he could barely put his hand in. Hahaha, he was worried that I didn't know where it was. Isn't it behind the lamp? I have already replaced halogen lamps myself. Of course I know the location.
Let me show you, you can see the dust cover. You should know that it is behind the headlights of your car.
The master rotated the dust cover and took it out.
After opening the dust cover, the original car is equipped with a halogen bulb. When you take out the lamp, you will find this protruding black position.
After taking out the lamp, the master said that the Sagitar is special. It uses a special card holder for the Sagitar. It is different from ordinary halogen lamps and cannot be installed directly.
Unplug the halogen light bulb and the power supply, and you can see the Sagitar special card holder iron piece and the original car halogen light bulb. There is a bit of rust on the buckle on the black power interface that is connected to the lamp.
Take out the original car halogen bulb and assemble the headlight installation position. I heard from the master that this position is different from ordinary wire fixation because of the use of a special card holder. If you want to change the lamp, you must have a dedicated Sagitar deck. This is also the reason why many people buy LED bulbs but cannot install them themselves.
This time I installed a nine-plus-one LED headlight from the Lanying GT6. Originally, I wanted to install a brighter one, but the installer said this one is bright enough.
Warranty card, manual
The installation master said that installing LEDs also requires a card holder specially prepared for Sagitar. Sagitar B is really awesome.
The installation master installs the Sagitar exclusive card holder on the LED headlight
More importantly, the Sagitar needs to install a decoder. If there is no decoder, the dashboard will report a fault light. Friends who have changed it must have encountered it.
The installer was so fast that he installed it in one go. I only took pictures of how it looked after it was installed.
Plug the lamp socket into the original car power interface to turn on the power. It is indeed a non-destructive installation and does not need to break the wire.
Turn on the light button in the car to test the power, and it will be blindingly bright during the day.
The installation master asked me to quickly take a look at the instrument panel to see if it was decoded? There is no fault light, the decoding is successful!
The other side is also pretending, two masters are going into battle at the same time, the battle is huge.
Look, look again, look closer, see if it is bright or not, the installation master is busy, and the people who eat melon are taking pictures, hahaha
After both sides are installed, look at the instrument panel again. There is no fault light, and the decoding is successful.
After installation, close the engine cover and turn on the lights during the day.
This is what the original car's halogen lamp looks like when it's turned on. Let's see if there's a big difference.
After the installation was completed, the installer asked me to take a picture of the code. I didn’t know what to do. He said that taking this picture would increase the warranty.
I didn't find it when I scanned it just now, so I scanned it a little closer, and it said it can be guaranteed nationwide. I don't want it to break while running outside the province, but I hope it won't break!
After the modification, it was not dark yet, so I went home without taking any pictures of the road. The sky was slightly dark, so I turned on the headlights and drove. The field of view in the car was much wider than before. At least at night, I didn’t have to worry about the limited field of vision being unable to cope with emergencies. . When I need to use the car one night, I'll take a few more photos and post them.
Before modifying LED headlights, I have seen many modification posts posted by car enthusiasts on the forum. I have always been worried about whether the modified headlights will have fault codes, whether they flash when the lights are turned on, and whether they are installed without damage. It is also a modified headlight. Only the Volkswagen model needs a special card holder, a fault code, and the headlights will flash three times when starting. The installer explained that the car is self-inspecting, and the fault code is too long to remember. Well, I just want to say that German craftsmanship is really good. Rigorous, success is also a failure, failure is also a failure! Ha ha! Reading the post, are you as worried about changing the headlights as I was at first? ! !
