The majority of these vehicles are sold as pickup truck or cab chassisvariants, although they could be configured in a variety of body styles.

In North America, the popular option package, the SR5 (Sport Runabout 5-Speed), was colloquially used as a model name for the truck, even though the option package was also used on other Toyota models, like the 1972 to 1979 Corolla. In 1984, the Trekker, the wagon version of the Hilux, was renamed the 4Runnerin Venezuela, Australia and North America, and the Hilux Surfin Japan. In 1992, Toyota introduced a newer pickup model, the mid-size T100in North America, necessitating distinct names for each vehicle other than Truckand Pickup Truck. Since 1995, the 4Runner is a standalone SUV, while in the same year Toyota introduced the Tacomato replace the Hilux pickup in North America.

fog lights FAQ:
What do fog lights do?
Fog lights are designed to aid visibility when bad weather conditions reduce your ability to see the road ahead. Front fog lights can cut through mist, fog, rain or even dust as they are mounted lower down than headlights in the front of the car.Front fog lights tend to rest in the bumper below each headlight Rear fog lights use very bright bulbs to cut through mist and fog to alert other road users of your presence.
Do all cars have fog lights?
All cars must have at least one rear fog light as a legal requirement in the UK. They must be fitted to the centre or offside rear of a vehicle. Front fog lights are not required to be fitted, and most manufacturers reserve them for their more expensive models. You will generally see them mounted low down into the bumper, below the headlights.
You may notice a thin LED strip on the front of some cars, these are Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and have been fitted to all new cars in the UK since 2011. They turn on whenever the car is switched on and are there to make the car more visible to other road users. They do not perform the same function as front fog lights.
Why are fog lights low?
Fog lamps are intended to provide an adjunct to the low beams. Because fog hovers close to the ground, the lamps are designed to shine down, illuminating the road beneath the fog. The top of the beam is cut off sharply so the light does not shine into the fog and reflect off it.
Do fog lights come on automatically?
If your vehicle has automatic lights that come on during a low light level, you may need to manually turn your fog lights on as they don't always do it automatically. The same principle applies to daytime running lights, as a lot of vehicles with this feature won't actually turn on the rear lights.
