Many people think that halogen headlights are not bright, especially when driving with others at night. After being hurt by the other person's headlight, they are even more determined to modify a super bright headlight to blind the other person's eyes. . So are the headlights casually modified? What should I pay attention to when modifying headlights?
Generally, when modifying headlights, the original car's halogen headlights are converted into xenon headlights (never read it as hernia headlights, it is a disease that is ridiculed). Xenon headlights are high-intensity discharge gas lamps. The light they emit has a high color temperature, very close to sunlight. The brightness is generally more than three times that of halogen headlights and has a longer service life. More importantly, it is easy to modify and not expensive, so it was once a hot spot for modification. So what should you pay attention to during the modification process?
1. The color temperature of xenon headlights is generally above 3000K, and the higher the color temperature, the brighter the headlights. However, the higher the color temperature, the worse the light penetration. Especially in rainy and snowy days, the eyes of high-brightness xenon headlights are almost a vast expanse of white, making it difficult to see the road clearly. So don’t blindly pursue high color temperature. Generally, more than 4000 is enough.
2. Another fatal disadvantage of xenon headlights is that they take a long time to start up (it takes 3-4 seconds to reach the rated brightness after lighting up), so when refitting, you only need to change the low beam to xenon, and use halogen headlights for the high beam. , which can not only ensure good lighting, but also reduce the dazzle of the headlights. The high and low beams of some cars are xenon headlights, which are particularly dazzling. You can't see the road clearly when passing another car. This kind of disregard of others puts others in danger, and you are not far away from danger.
3. When modifying xenon headlights, a lens must be installed. The function of the lens is to converge the scattered light of the xenon headlights into parallel lights to obtain better light directivity. Due to the high brightness of xenon headlights, if a lens is not installed, the light will easily diverge, affecting driving safety.
4. Modifying xenon headlights is an illegal modification of a vehicle. If it cannot pass the annual vehicle inspection, you must put away the removed headlights and replace them when the vehicle is inspected. Otherwise, you will have to spend money to hire scalpers.
In addition, when we modify, it is best to go to a professional modification shop to avoid going to some roadside shops without modification experience. Because it involves some line changes, if you make random changes without experience, it may cause unnecessary losses.
