When Brother Miao was driving on the highway, he noticed that many drivers did not turn on their lights. Including my own car, the lights suddenly went out, and I suddenly thought of such a problem.
Have some drivers also encountered a situation like mine? Suddenly, the lights went out, and after they went out, they didn't even know it.
The principle of automatic headlights
The automatic headlights are on, but there are no lights on the dashboard. So why in this case, even if the automatic headlights are turned on and the visibility is indeed not good, the lights are not turned on?
In fact, automatic headlights will have a sensor, and this sensor, in most cars, is placed in front of the car.
When the visibility outside is not good, such as when it rains, the road is very slippery, and because it is foggy, there is a layer of white stuff on the road, and this layer of stuff prevents you from seeing far.
But its brightness is not dark. Because it is white, it is relatively reflective. After reflection, it will make your car's light sensor mistakenly think it is very bright. At this time, it will automatically turn off the automatic headlights for you, causing your car to not turn on the lights.
Fog lights turn off with automatic headlights
You start to think that you have your lights on, because maybe when you get on the highway, visibility is a little lower.
As a result, while running on the highway, it suddenly turned off the lights automatically. At this time, although you turned on the fog lights, once the headlights were turned off, the fog lights would automatically turn off.
In other words, your fog lights and headlights are linked. Even if you manually turn on your headlights at this time, it will still appear that the fog lights are not turned on, and you have to manually turn on the fog lights again.
Therefore, this reason may also be one of the reasons why traffic accidents are prone to occur when visibility is poor on rainy days.
Get into the habit of looking at dashboard icons
At this point, Brother Miao, I have been a veteran driver for more than ten years and have made so many car safety videos. This time I discovered that it is actually something similar to a BUG.
Therefore, Brother Miao carefully reminds everyone that when we drive on the highway on rainy days, especially many of our friends’ cars are smarter.
After you get used to this kind of automatic headlights, you need to understand its principles, so when you find that the road conditions change, you should develop good habits in time and look at the dashboard more often.
Check whether there is a fault icon or a light icon on the instrument panel. It is very important to judge your current status through these.
Don't blindly believe in automatic headlights. Automatic headlights are a good thing, but automatic headlights have bugs, especially a very fatal bug.
So I also hope that as cars become more and more intelligent in the future, we can fundamentally solve this problem.
Because now the car’s camera sensors are all set up for you, so can you link the camera sensors?
Just use cameras and sensors to sense the rain, fog and light outside. Don't just rely on a light sensor to sense it. In this case, make a comprehensive judgment.
I believe that with our current smart technologies, it is not difficult to solve this problem.
