Foreword:
Many ordinary models do not have xenon lamps or LED lamps, let alone lenses. Of course, this is not a problem for our automotive professionals. As long as car owners have ideas, we will do our best to meet customer needs.
The lighting upgrade not only looks more advanced, but will actually be more practical. Although in foggy days, our xenon lamps and LED lights cause fog reflection due to light color, which greatly blocks the line of sight. The effect of halogen lights is good, but it is better to drive less in foggy weather. In addition, they are superior to halogen lights in basically every aspect. I think this is why a large number of car owners choose to upgrade their lights The reason, of course, that xenon headlights consume batteries also exists, but it is not very big and we can ignore it.
Next we move on to upgrading the lighting and installing lenses:
First, let’s take a look at the upgraded vehicle, Nissan-Sylphy, a popular family model.
The original car has halogen lights for both low and high beams, both without lenses.
Upgrade plan:
The low beam is a xenon headlight with a lens, and the high beam is an LED headlight. Because the space where the high beam is placed is too small, a lens cannot be added.
Why use this solution:
Relatively speaking, when you turn on the lights when driving a car at night, the first thing you turn on is the low beam. There are many low beams used in daily life. The brightness of xenon headlights is brighter than that of LEDs (especially for some LEDs), so the low beams are xenon headlights. With lenses and high beams, we generally use them more at high speeds and when overtaking, so if you use xenon headlights, using the lights alternately when overtaking or when coming from the opposite direction will cause the xenon headlights to not start up for a long time and not be bright enough, even if they start quickly. Using LED for a period of time will also delay the lighting time, so when using LED, there is a saying that upgrading lights without adding a lens is a rogue behavior. However, because it is a high-beam headlight, it is not used as frequently as low-beam headlights. It is also used at high speeds or at high speeds. When overtaking, we usually increase our awareness of light usage regulations, so it will not lead to hooliganism.
First, we first collect data such as the irradiation height of the original car lights:
After data collection and recording, we can proceed to the second step:
We need to disassemble the headlight. Of course, we must first remove the front bumper before we can remove the headlight:
The disassembly steps have been completed here. The main thing is to pay attention to some details. When disassembling the bumper and the headlights, do not dismantle them by force. Be sure to disassemble all the clips and screws in place, and then take out the headlights.
Why put the headlight in the oven? Because the headlight is sealed by a ring of sealant. After heating, the colloid melts and softens, and then the headlight can be opened like a leaf.
At this point we have to make the base of the lens lamp. To put it bluntly, it means drilling holes. Because we need to install the lens, we need to drill holes to prepare the installation position. Let’s talk about it by looking at the pictures.
Next, we select the lenses and xenon headlights we use, and then install them. I won’t disclose the brand here to prevent unknown people from advertising them, hehe. Let’s go into our pictures and talk.
The low beam is 80% complete. Next, I changed the high beam to LED. Because I only need to replace the bulb, the process is extremely simple. However, after replacing the high beam, I feel that the width indicator light It was too dull, so I replaced the width indicator light with a cool blue LED. Next, let’s look at the pictures.
Next, after we installed it in place, we started to glue the headlight and lampshade together. What we used was hot melt glue. Put it into the oven in the same way, and then take it out after 10 minutes at around 130 degrees, and press and hold it together. After the glue is stuck, the headlight is restored. Please see the picture below.
After installing the lampshade, we need to sort out the wiring, because after upgrading the lights, the wiring also needs to be adjusted accordingly.
Next, prepare to install the headlights on the car, and then install the xenon headlight ballast.
in conclusion:
In fact, the steps for upgrading the lights may be slightly different for each person. In addition to making the lights look more advanced, the more important thing is to improve the safety of driving a vehicle at night. Of course, we will never allow the use of lights that does not follow the regulations. , in that case, upgrading the lights will help you. Therefore, when driving at night, we must use lights in a civilized and regulated manner.
Then when it comes to upgrading the lighting, the most important thing is to pay attention to the details. Every link such as wiring, disassembly, and installation needs to be done carefully to prevent mistakes.
When driving on the road, safety comes first, so we must take good care of our vehicles, inspect them frequently, drive in a civilized manner, and drive safely. Because cars are an indispensable companion in our lives.
We must learn from drivers with good driving habits and say no to bad driving.
